Welcome to our farm. Windswept Farm is a small alpaca farm nestled in the rolling
countryside of Frederick County, Maryland. We have a small 31-acre farm that is
located conveniently in the picturesque Middletown Valley.
We are hands on alpaca breeders that are involved in every aspect of the alpaca
business. After many, many months of research and visiting numerous farms, we
purchased our first alpacas in 2003. We fell in love with the rich fiber of
these animals and in particular the unique shades of gray. It is our goal to
improve the quality of the gray fiber while maintaining genetic diversity for
the overall good health of the animal. Over the years, our love of the alpacas and the fiber has
expanded our breeding program to also include the brown and fawn fibers.
We strive to produce show quality animals with every generation born. Our goal
is to offer healthy alpacas with spectacular fiber at reasonable prices. Whether the
alpaca has gray
fiber or brown, we try to keep our prices affordable and our alpaca quality and
customer service top-notch.
We feel very strongly that great genetics and fiber does not have to cost a fortune.
We love our alpacas and enjoy sharing our experiences with you. Being an alpaca
farmer is a very rewarding lifestyle. As part of our services to our clients we
will help you with all aspects of your alpaca adventure. We can help you with such
items as pasture development, barn layout and give you the basic groundwork to begin
a wonderful career as a successful alpaca farmer.

Services
We are a full service farm. We can help you learn the ins and outs of the alpaca
farming business. Every year we are in the business we learn something new. That
experience is valuable and we offer all we know and have experienced to our customers.
If we don't know the answer to your question then we can probably find someone who
does.
Our support continues long after you've taken your alpaca home. We don't take the
check and run. Once you buy an alpaca from us you are part of the alpaca community
and a friend.
In addition
to alpaca sales, we offer breeding and boarding services, along with alpaca fiber, yarn and finished products.
If you would like consulting services, we are available at $50 per hour. We can
help you with your pastures, barn layout, general farm decisions, general medical
and health questions, halter training, etc. If you purchase an animal from us, there
is no charge for our services.
Terms & Conditions
Financing is available to qualified buyers. The specific length and terms of the
financing being offered may vary by animal. In general, if terms are less than one
year, no interest is applied. Terms over one year will be at 7% interest. We will
always discuss alternative options.
A deposit of 25% is required on all
sales. While an animal is being financed, the purchaser is required to carry full
mortality insurance on the animal with Windswept Farm as the loss payee.
Special terms and conditions may be offered with a particular alpaca for sale.
We do accept credit cards; Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
All unproven females are sold with a reproductive and live-birth guarantee and all unproven males
are sold with a fertility guarantee.
If you are unable to move your alpacas right away, we can offer several months free board while you are making arrangements or getting your place ready to
greet the new alpacas.
FREE Transportation of the animals to your local farm is available. If we cannot
deliver the animal we can assist in setting up the transport service.
We will always put together a special package at your request. Let us know which
animals you are interested in and we will work with you to make a suitable package
price.
