Natural Yarn - No Dyes

Alpaca yarn

Light Brown, Tan, Beige and White yarn. The majority of our fiber is turned into yarn and then finished product.

Raw Fiber

Alpaca fiber

Light rose gray fiber taken directly from the animal on shearing day and placed in a plastic bag for storage.

Batts & Rovings

Alpaca batts Alpaca rovings

A small amount of our fiber is turned into batts for quilters and rovings for spinners.

Bamboo Yarn

Alpaca yarn

3-ply Alpaca Bamboo blend.

We have expanded our yarn selection to include yarn made with bamboo fiber. Bamboo is an eco-friendly, sustainable product that requires no fertilizers or pesticides. It gows very rapidly and requires little to no care. It is a renewable resource that grows very fast.

Other Natural Fibers

We are expanding our yarn products to include a high quality  line of specialty yarns that include alpaca, mohair, cashmere, silk, tencel and bamboo fibers to name a few.

These yarns will be available in both natural and hand dyed shades.

Alpaca yarn

The fiber products produced by our farm fall into a couple of different categories. Most of the fiber is used to produce yarn. We use mini mills based in the U.S. to produce our yarn. We look for mills that are using ecologically friendly techniques for cleaning the fiber; no harsh chemicals. Our yarn is usually configured in 250 yard skeins. The actual weight of each skein will vary based on the particular fiber utilized. We produce both Natural- undyed yarn and vibrant, hand dyed yarn.

In addition to yarn, some of our fiber is used to make quilt batting. These are approximately 2' by 3' rectangular sections of fiber mesh. We also have a limited quantities of rovings available for spinners. However, since most of our fiber goes into yarn, we do not have a large supply of rovings.

Lastly, we also will sell raw fiber. We separate our fiber into prime blanket and neck fiber for each animal during shearing. The leg fiber and any other third cuts are placed into a common collection for craft projects. Since raw fiber is directly from the animal into a bag. It can contain dirt and debris from the animal and the fields.
